Icy

It is icy today. All of the schools are closed in Jonesboro. I had to come to work. Over the past few years, Clopton Clinic closed when the weather was snowy and/or icy. However, we've had a policy change. We now do not close for the weather. If people choose not to come to work, they will be able to use their PTO time. It's been a big hoopla at the CC.

So, last night Hannah and I just stayed at home because the weather was rough. We watched new episodes of The Bachelor (my guilty pleasure) and John & Kate Plus 8. The Bachelor is narrowing it down quickly. He even opted not to disperse one of the roses last night because he knew the final three weren't for him. I love it! It's getting good now.

Amanda is throwing a Mardis Gras party for me for my birthday. Yay! I'm so excited! But not excited about turning 25... Sad day. I'm getting older. Not nearly as cute as I used to be. Haha!
Oh well.. I have AMAZING friends with which to share my special day and I'm looking forward to it.

Mr. President

I took off work on Tuesday to watch the inauguration of President Barak Obama. I'm so glad I did. It was very eventful. The Mall in DC was a sea of people. They estimated 1.5 mm. I was reminded of being there for July 4th, 2002. It hadn't been a full year since the attacks on Sept 11 and it was a very patriotic atmosphere.
It was about 20 degrees in DC on Monday, but that didn't stop people from coming out. The event overshadowed all other occaisions that day. ABC had great coverage of the White House exchange. President and First Lady Laura Bush gracefully welcomed Barak & Michelle Obama to their new home. Cameras were at the portico were they went in and out.
At the ceremony, Aretha Franklin sang and Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life, said a beautiful prayer. I teared up. It was a day to be very proud to be an American... as all days are.
That night there was a "Neighborhood Ball" in addition to the traditional inaugural ball. There lots of celebrities there performing, but the BEST part.. and the hi-light of my year so far.. was when Beyonce Knowles sang "At Last" while the President and his wife danced. I teared up then too.
